Pictures of the factory installed accessory hitch on a 377

If anyone ordered their 377 with the factory accessory hitch please snap a picture of it and where it attaches to the frame. Also how far apart is the hitch and the bumper?

Thank you in advance!

Mine came with the hitch but it was standard equipment on the ‘16 models. Here’s a picture

I have the fifth wheel in my Sig, if you look under the back of the trailer you will find two brackets one on each side with two holes each that’s where the hitch bolts to. you can get the numbers off of that, have one made or see if you can find one that’ll fit

I requested one thru the dealer but they dropped the ball and didn't order one. So when we picked up the 5'er they scrambled and "Modified" an after market one that seems to sit really low. I requested that they get a factor hitch from Jayco and they said they wouldn't because this is what I agreed too. Sorry for your incompetence, they put the aftermarket on because we were leaving early the next morning for a trip centered around using our bikes. So now I need to see if there is difference between the after market and the factory hitch they were suppose to get for us.

The factory hitch comes out just below the bumper

See my picture above. Yours is lower than mine. Mine is about 2” below the bumper as it is welded onto the square tubing under the frame

I don’t have a 377 but I do have the factory hitch on my camper (sorry no pics at the moment) that attaches to the frame. Your dealer’s custom job is low... that setup would definitely cause my bike rack to drag.

I'm in the same boat as SouthCo. Not a 377 but factory installed hitch that is much much tighter to the bumper than that. I've been in sites were sloped enough that if my hitch sat that low I would not have been able to level. I hate when dealerships make mistakes and don't make it right. They should have been willing to let you use that to make your trip and then swap it out with the correct part when it came in. Good luck sir.

Here is 2019 377 so no factory bumper. They welded box tube and right angle to the frame and attached the hitch to that. Used my fist to show the space between the hitch and the bottom of the rear wall. Need to beef this up.

Thank you everyone!

I'm sticking to my guns on requiring them to order the hitch from Jayco. While I appreciate their efforts to help us out on our trip, the factor unit will lift the hitch several inches higher, thus reducing the risk of dragging our bike rack.

Does everybody that has the hitch also have self-level? I'd like to put a hitch on mine but I'd have to do something with the rear stabilizer assy.

My 2017 Eagle 293RKDS came standard with the hitch. Mine has auto leveling and special ordered factory installed electric stabilizer jacks as well

Are the stabilizers back where the hitch is? Mine are bolted to the brackets that are also used to mount the flip up cargo tray that was/is available. I can remove them and then weld a square tube along the frame that can then have the cross tube welded to it that a rcvr would weld to. The stabilizers could be bolted back on after with some spacers.

Yes, just forward of the hitch. The hitch is welded on to frame extensions that are welded to the frame.

Big thing about not putting the factory hitch on is SAFETY. We have a factory hitch which was part of the frame. Meaning that it was welded on to the frame prior everything else being attached to the frame. Now if you make them weld on a factory hitch, there is a very very good chance that the frame will get way to hot and start a fire. I'm thinking that would be much worse than a hitch hanging 2" lower. Just my 2 cents.

To weld on a hitch they'd need to drop the underbelly plastic. Welding onto the frame won't transfer the heat far enough to burn anything, just need to make sure there's no wiring, insulation or plastic near the welds. I welded on the brackets for my front leg braces and didn't even move the plastic belly.
