pin box lubrication

Ok, I have the reese revolution pin box and when turning, it makes a binding noise. I've tried spraying white lithium grease in between the plates but doesn't do much good. So the question is, can you take that big nut off, grease it good and then put it back on? Is there a certain torque setting if so? I like having the pivot point under the nose of the trailer but the squeal is really bugging me. any ideas?

I had this happen on my Airborne revolution. Since new it was squeeling. I suspected that the dealer did not lube when installed and I was correct.

Mine has 4 bolts on the top of the pivot shaft, then the whole front drops downs. Grease that shaft with a nice thin layer of grease. You have to check the instructions on yours, mine said to torque to 150lbs to set it in place then back out and retorque to 45lbs. For the first few trips after I re checked the torque until it stabilized.

Not one peep of noise now.

if I remember correctly the revolution uses a big bearing that needs lubed. There are service kits this video shows it. https://youtu.be/LlK55zu3f80

Hey thanks for the link!, thats the exact pin box I have. Thats something i need to wait for the offseason to do, but do I must. doesn't look like too bad of a job. Should i use the lube they give you or real grease? seems like grease would last longer, just a thought.

If it were me I would use the supplied lube on the nylon plate and grease on the bearing.
