Pinnacle 36FBTS Bad Design for TV Electronics

Hello! We just took delivery of our new 2017 Pinnacle 36FBTS. We love the layout. All of the help and comments from this forum helped seal the deal for us.

During the walk-through, we were surprised to find that the glass fronted cabinet door in the living room in front of the stereo, DVD, radio unit can't be accessed using the remote control unless the door is up. Which seems really stupid because the door doesn't have a feature to hold it up (hinges are at the top). So literally, you have to prop the little cabinet door open to sit in the seats and change volume, etc.

Has anyone else found this to be the case? Am I missing something?

Doesn't sound right. Weak batteries? Bad remote? Bad remote sensor on the unit? It shouldn't have an issue passing through the glass.

For most of us here, we have put on little cabinet door struts to keep the doors open with out holding them.

We had mini-shocks placed on all the doors with glass on them. Can't believe the engineers/designers did not think about that being an issue.

Really, that seems like a really bone-headed design move. I think we're going to try an emitter/receiver wire and see if that works.

Where did you get your strut to hold the cabinet door open?

Our remote won't work thru the glass either, with fresh batteries.

Mine is hit or miss. I installed some supports I found on amazon on all of my cabinets. They work great. Doors Cupboard Window Furniture Lid Lift Up Stay Support Buffer Hinge (2Pcs) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MY1OSR0..._9ff2ybJEDTWDA

I was disappointed in sound quality with the system also. I purchased a compact Samsung sound bar and it is awesome. You will love it.

@Klassic Thank you for the strut recommendation. We are on a 6 week trip. With the new 36FBTS. I ordered the struts right away and sweet hubby installed them. They are tricky to install, but once they are, they are a lifesaver! Why they don't install them at the factory is silly.

While I'm at it, why there isn't a motorized vent in the master bath when there is one in both the 1/2 bath and the kitchen is BEYOND me. Seriously, if you are 5' 3", you will not be opening the vent in the master bath with out standing on the toilet. What were they thinking?

But, with that said, the RV as a whole is fantastic. "Most" things are so well thought out and the design makes for easy living. We really love the motion activated lights in the closet. That is genius. All in all, a wonderful RV!

Does your 36FBTS have a mirror between the 2 cabinets in the master bath? Our does not and they said at the dealer that was the way they are but the picture in the Pinnacle book shows a mirror. I am just adding to the list of thing to get fixed.

TV Remote

Our remote will not work through the glass in our 16 Eagle RSTS. At least the hinges are on the side!

Yes, of course it has a mirror! The cabinet doors are so narrow, I can't imagine that yours isn't supposed to have the large mirror.

And, actually one more thing about the master bath vent/fan...Does yours do this: To turn fan on, you have to turn wall switch on, then push power button on the vent itself. Then, you can use wall switch to turn it off. But, the wall switch won't turn it back on. You have to turn it back on using the unit's switch. We took it back to the dealer (twice) and both times, they said that's we way it's supposed to function. I don't buy it!

Front bath vent 2016 pinnacle 39fbts

Our vent has a 0-3 speed fan control mounted on the fan housing,in the ceiling. The wall switch controls the operation on/off function. With switch on ,the fan will come on automatically when the fan shroud is manually opened and shut off when closed.I generally open the shroud, turn on the wall switch and later shut off wall switch and close the fan shroud,in that order .i personally didn't want to leave the switch on and control operation with the opening and closing of the shroud.
Hope that makes sense.
We definitely have the mirror inn the middle ,as those on the sides ,are very small.
