Pinnacle Battery Upgrade and Inverter Install

Replaced the batteries and add 2 inverters on my Pinnacle.

Thought I would post the pictures of the project.

Dealer installed 2 group 24 batteries. Replaced them with 3 H8 AGM batteries from Costco. Not the highest end battery, but great price to performance.

Started by reinforcing the shelf with marine plywood. Added marine plywood under the batteries. Covered it with conveyor belt material.

Added a switch for each battery. This gives me the option to leave one battery off just in case. Added a main switch for the coach. And, 1 switch for each inverter.

Built the wiring offline.

Mounted the inverters to poly marine board. Mounted the batteries to a sliding tray.

Wired one inverter to the family room circuit. Including the TV.

Wired the second inverter to the bed room circuit. Including the TV.

2000 Watt sine wave inverters. Each with an internal 30 amp auto transfer switch.

Very nice! What are the specs on the batteries? My GP27’s are 2 years old and are beginning to show age after being drained down a couple times at the dealer. Costco 12v GC batteries are on my list.

Nice Job! I'm a detail guy too. Question to a fellow neat guy. I'm looking at a pair of battery's in parallel to feed my RV. Do you recommend a disconnect for each battery then feed to another 3rd disconnect for the RV feed?
What are the details of your components? Fuse size, disconnect switch amperage, breaker size? ( I assume that is what the 3 battery's are connected to then on to the fuses)

AGM batteries don’t generally give off hydrogen but they can if you over charge them. It isn’t really good practice to mount the inverters over them like you did.

I am using one 300 amp fuse for all three batteries. That fuse connects to two 120 amp circuit breakers. I like using one switch for each battery. And another switch for the whole coach.

One 200 amp fuse for each inverter. And one switch for each inverter.

All the switches are 300 amp rating.

Good advice from Scott. Probably should not have mounted above the batteries. I have enough cable to move the inverter panel to the other side of the basement wall.

Not to rain all over your install because you obviously put a lot of time into it and did beautiful work, but I also am wondering why 2 - 2000 watt inverters each hooked to relatively low power draw circuits. I don't know if you considered this but inverters draw power all the time unless shut off, even if nothing is drawing power from the inverter. The idle current draw is typically a couple of amps (sometimes more or less depending on the inverter), so you have 2 inverters and if they are each drawing 2 amps that is almost 100 Ah of battery capacity per day wasted. Do you have an easy way to turn the inverters on and off?

Very nice install for sure and I 2nd the relocation of the inverters to the other side of your basement wall. Batteries give off a flammable gas and need plenty of ventilation.
Curious to how much $$$ you have in it? Also, do you have solar? If not, would be a good time to install it with all that reserve power you now have.

I know there is lots of inverter options. Two inverters with built in transfer switches, made for a quick 2 circuit install. Went with the 2000 watt to support the 15 amp circuit.

Installed remote on-off switch located in the bedroom.

Starting the solar install this weekend. Planning on two 190 watt panels. Would like to mount using unistrut. Looking for unistrut install pictures.

Saw this used to secure panels to roof. Thought it was a good idea that the t-track could mount to roof rafters avoiding drilling into decking.
