Pinnacle fresh water overflow tube
I'm wondering if anyone else has the issue with the overflow tube siphoning off several gallons of water when the tank is filled. I thought I saw a thread on here last year regarding mods people had made to the overflow tube to prevent losing so much water. I would like to hear from anyone who has found an easy way to put a valve or clamp on the overflow tube to prevent the loss of fresh water. Please send pics of the mod if you can.
Thanks.

Cut off an inch of the overflow hose and take it to the hardware store. Get a hose clamp, barbed hose fitting, and valve that fit your hose. Go home and install. It’s easier to do than posting a pic to this forum. Lol
Note: Fill tank with valve open, then close once full. Don’t blow up your tank!

Our Jay Flight siphons fresh water, too. I use a couple of neoprene 'corks' in the ends of the tubes (we have 2 tanks): When the slide goes in I put corks in, before the slide goes out I pull the corks out.

Thanks ShawnR! Sounds simple enough. I'll give it a shot and let you know how it works out!

I stopped at the grocery store and picked up some of these. Fold over the tube and place one on either side. Worked for a few thousand miles now.

It was discussed earlier in here.

I’m going to try looping the vent.

I’m losing water through the flat tube sitting still filling the fresh tank. Instructions for filling is to run water until it comes out the overflow and shut off the water. Water will continue out the overflow for 2 to 3 minutes. I estimate 5 to 10 gallons lost. The clip I understand, but seems like I will get drenched trying to do that while the water is rushing out! If I wait until the water stops coming out to clamp the flat tube, I will only be preventing water loss from sloshing while traveling.
Perhaps this is where I accept the things I cannot change! 😛

I have had the same problem with my North Point and now my Pinnacle. There are other models which also have this problem. I fill the tank until it begins to run out. I let it siphon a gallon or so then clamp off the flat tube with a large paper clamp (shown in an earlier post). I have a threaded hose plug for the other plug. These two items prevent any more siphoning. The one thing to remember is to remove them before you fill the tank again, or you could possibly rupture your fresh water tank.

I use black electrical tape after folding over the black tube. This is all after the tank is full once I get to the camping spot I remove it.

I use a clamp for the larger overflow. I bought a sprinkler shut off for the small one. No more siphoning at all. Just have to remember to open/unclamp them once you need to use the system.
