Pinnacle Generator Fuel Tank

Our Pinnacle came with Generator Prep so we have the remote start panel, transfer switch and gasoline tank mounted up front by the generator compartment.

Does anybody know how gallons of fuel the Generator Fuel tank holds?

Thanks Ed,

We are thinking about installing a 5.5 Kw Generator in the generator compartment.

I also sent a email to Jayco asking what size our fuel tank size was.
Below is Jayco's response.

The size of the fuel tank offered on 2011 Pinnacles was a 12.8 gallon tank

I have been very happy with my tank size, although larger is always better in my book. You will be very happy with the 5.5 Onan. I am ridiculously anal about mine however. Stabilizer in the fuel (marine alcohol formula), no alcohol gas when I can get it, but the marine formula alcohol Sta-Bil anyway, and I run it under load the first of every month for one hour and I NEVER fail to do this. It has NEVER failed me either.

Thanks Ed

I think that is key on a gasoline generator, fuel stablizer and run on a regular basis will avoid issues and problems

The advise that edatlanta gave is some of the best advise you will ever get about keeping your Onan 5500 generator maintained. I do the same thing after having a geberator Onan 5500 fail about 8 or 9 years ago. They have throw away carburators $219.00 and labor. These carburators cannot be overhauled or cleaned. Besure and run each month under load and use stabillube in the fuel.

Today is the first of September and as soon as the sun comes up and starts to heat things up a bit my generator will go into service for an hour. I could do it right now, but would have to turn the thermostats down a bit to keep the load on the generator. I will wait until later this morning, but it WILL be done today as usual.

The generator monthly duty is done. It started perfectly and ran for one hour with 2 a/c's, 1 tv, 1 Splendide on dry and my laptop of course. Now I think it is nap time.

What route will you take across Alabama Rob? If you are coming up I-65 let me know when. I would like to meet you and put a face with the posts on here. I am 15 miles west of I-65 about half way between Birmingham and Montgomery.

Sounds like a plan Ed, we will be going right up I-65 from Montgomery to Brimingham.
We will leave Sarasota, FL Monday morning heading to Tallahassee, stay there two nights then leave early Wednesday morning heading to Muscle Shoals, AL
