Pinnacle Oxidation

Having issues with oxidation returning quickly on our 2016 Pinnacle 36 FBTS. Anyone else having issues and have any suggestions for long term relief?

Nothing you can do outside of having the cap painted with a high quality Fiberglass paint. You wont want to do that after you learn the cost, about $1500-$2000 just for the cap. I apply Collinite Fiberglass cleaner/wax each year. I get about 6-8 months shine from the stuff, that's it. Keeping the RV out of the sun will also help..

There are also several threads on here concerning a "wrap". The search feature at the top of the page will help find them.

If you Google front cap fade or oxidation you will find a long list of complaints. Common issue.

Have the same unit and same problem. Mine has been under a pole barn for half its life. The one side and back that gets the sun (when it was not under cover) had really faded. I wax it 2-3 times a year and cannot get the shine back. White polishing compound works but will be a big job. I did the back and it only lasted for half year before fading back and it was waxed. My front cap that was repainted when two months old looks great. The dealer damaged that and it was redone. I have owned big fiberglass boats over the years and they held up waxing 2-3 times a year. The gel coat on my unit is just not up to par. Gel coat fades but some are way better than others. And yes if u can afford paint that is the way to go. But than your roof and and all rubber and vinyl trim will still wear away.

I just purchased the Maguire's M4916 RV Heavy Duty Oxidation Remover yesterday. I wont have time to try it until later this summer.

Part of the problem also is the gelcoat is so thin………..I had a detailer detail my trailer and they buffed right thru the clear coat. Now nothing will make it shine.
Don’t know why manufacturers apply it so thin.
