Pinnacle screen door dog protector

We love our New Pinnacle - just still sorting things out.

The door on the 36FBTS is made by Challenger and there is the proverbial lower screen that dogs ( my two mini schnauzers) love to scratch away.

I contacted Challenger and they no longer offer a shield to protect the screen because of space limitation.

Does anyone have any suggestions - we certainly cannot be the only ones with this issue.

HomeDepot sells universal screen door protectors.. I have the Lipperd screen door so was able to use their product which is very easy to install. The HomeDepot vers are a good alternative. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Unique-H...-203077138-_-N

Search Lippert Screen Defender. They sell them on Amazon. I have one on my Montana door from the factory.

he does not have the Libbert screen door. Curious if what you are suggesting will work on his door.

Not sure but the door looks just like mine. I think if it measures correct, it should work.

Actually the Lippert version is made specifically for their doors and it is just a matter of clipping them in. I guess because of parts availability Jayco has elected to go away from Lippert in many areas ie: Levelers, Awnings, doors, etc. - I understand.

The Lippert protector might work but, would require a means to mount it.

Did you install it on a "Challenger" brand door?

It is not a Lippert Door

Just to be clear - the new Pinnacles have a door manufactured by Challenger - this is not a Lippert door and the screens offered by Amazon and others for Lippert doors will not fit a Challenger door.

So far I know of my rig and one other, a friend of mine, whhich are 2021 36FBTS Pinnacles that have Challenger Mfg doors

Are we the first and only ones that have dogs?

No, i have the Lippert screen and went with their screen protectors Before I went with Lippert i was looking at HomeDepot and almost went that route.. HomeDepot's version screws into the door so it is more universal, whereas the Lippert protector will only work on their doors. My brother installed the HomeDepot version on his trailer, the only thing you need to watch is the depth of screws to mount it.. My brothers is more sturdy then the Lippert protector and it looks nice too.
