Pinnacle Solar Panel Install

Planning on installing two 190 watt solar panels.

Thinking about using aluminum unistrut with z brackets to mount the panels.

Looking for any pictures of installs using unistrut.

Made progress on my solar install.

Installed the controller. The wires were labeled well and easy to get. Added a piece of mdf wood behind the panel.

Solar panel mounts. Made the decision to use aluminum unistrut. With the unistrut end caps and channel cover. Mounted unistrut to the roof using 4 1/4"x3" stainless lag screws. Was able to hit truss's on all 4 screws. Put a 5 foot piece of butyl tape between roof and unistrut. Dicor on bolts and around the perimeter.

Looks like the panel next to the AC has the potential to be partially shaded by the AC for a lot of the day. This will be a problem if you plan to wire is series.

Almost done with the solar install. A few things to finish up next weekend.

The panels are mounted. Ended up adding a 100 watt panel to cover the junction box and wires.

Factory wiring was to the wrong fuse. Solar was connected to the 10 amp fuse.

Next weekend will add a solar disconnect switch. Since I am in there, I will reconfigure the wires and breakers above the battery.

The solar install is done. Added two 190 watt panels and one 100 watt panel.

This weekend completed the install with the addition of a solar disconnect switch. Switch is shown in red next to the propane tanks.

While adding the switch. Cleaned up the wiring above the battery. Added the before and after wiring pictures.
