Pinnacle steps broken

Our 2015 Pinnacle steps seems to have broken. The top left step bolt (not really a bolt) seems like a weld,
Has broken. Anybody experienced this? Just out of Jayco warranty (naturally). Any tips on a fix??

Yes, the bolts were recalled. See your dealer and they will order the recall kit and fix it for you.

WASHINGTON — Jayco, Inc. is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 Seismic Pinnacle and Eagle Premier recreational trailers manufactured April 3, 2013, to Feb. 27. In the affected vehicles, a rivet for the quad entry steps may shear and fail, causing the steps to give when being used.
If the rivet shears under occupant load, the occupant may fall, increasing the risk of personal injury.

I have heard of those that drilled it out and replaced it with a hardened bolt and a nylock nut. Especially if it is an older unit.

The rivet broke on the top left stair on our Eagle Premier. There is a recall and the dealer replaced the stairs. I was hoping the new stairs wold be a different brand. I don't like the flex in the stairs.

The rivet shoulder that is rolled over on the inside of the step is not thick enough allowing it to fail, drill out rivet replace with quality bolt, nylon lock washer shot of black paint, done
