Pinnacle tire problems

I’ve been struggling with tires for the past 2 years on our 2019 Pinnacle 36KPTS. Installed a New set of Goodyear Endurance ST25u5/85R16 in October 2021, load range E, max single tire load 4080 lb. One of the tires split along the tread in July 2022 with 8900 miles on tires, limped home on the spare, dealer replaced that tire under warranty. Another tire of that set of 4 was punctured this week March 2023 while on our way to Florida 1200 miles from home (now about 14000 miles on this set of tires), had a local tire shop plug it, while reinflating noticed steel belt separated, had to buy new tire. I Always inflate tires to 80 psi cool, pressure on TPMS reaches 90 -95 psi while traveling on interstate. I’ve weighed several times, Pinnacle GVWR ranges 15,500 - 16,800 lb. depending on full, empty, etc. Pinnacle sticker says GVWR 16,500. I have run up on a curb or two when making a tight turn, could that damage my tires? What am I doing wrong? Why do I keep having tire problems? What kind of tires should I buy next time that might be a bit more worry free?

I was so pleased with the GY Endurance tires that came on our new 2019 Pinnacle RLWS that I replaced them with another set of Endurance after the originals were starting to show wear after only 18,000 miles. They come with only 8/32 of tread depth. After only 2,000 miles on the second set, 3 of them developed bulges on the side. The touted sidewall flex in the Endurance can be detrimental. I purchased them from Discount Tire and was about 250 miles from the nearest Discount Tire store when I discovered the bulges. Not wanting to trust them, I went to an independent tire dealer and had them put a set of Goodyear G614 RST commercial tires on. Very expensive but a very beefy tire with 12/32 tread depth. Discount Tire refunded the cost of the Endurance that I purchased from them with no questions asked. They admitted that bulging on the Endurance was becoming a more frequent problem. The ride on the G614 IMHO is far superior.

Had those put on our 2015 Pinnacle and I was extremely happy too.

The Goodyear G614 is a good upgrade from the Goodyear Endurance.

I upgraded to the Michelin 245/70/19.5 XZE. A heavy duty commercial trailer tire. I have a 2021 Pinnacle. They are the same size as the factory Goodyear Endurance.

I am on my 2nd set of G614 RST's. The first set replaced the old Marathon's that Goodyear offered before the Endurance. My old G614's were eight years old and I never had a flat or any kind of damage. They had over 30K on them. I replaced them with the same G614's.

The best tire I ever owned.

Do the G614 RST's require a new wheel vs the ST255 85R16

No, they will mount on the original wheel.

Just replaced my G614 with Hankook Vantra T31. They are G rated 110
Psi trailer tires. Excellent reviews. Best price was Walmart $210 and Discount tire matched price. G614 were way to much. My axle weights are 12800 lbs so inflation chart calls for 85 psi I run 90 psi to cover extra tank weights. Do not count on what Jayco says for weight. Axles weights 12800 pin weight 4,040 lbs

I just sold my old G614’s to a guy with a straw trailer. They looked new!

Mine looked great also but 7 years time to go. New T31 are also higher speed rated.

That’s my thought also. These are commercial grade tires but I didn’t want to take any chances as we are doing more traveling this year.

I did a bunch of research on tires and trying to find tire brand air pressure charts for weights.

Easy.....do an internet seach on inflation load table on each tire and their specs. If you have an issue I can find it for you.............or keep it simple and inflate to the max cold ture pressure stated on the tire but be sure the carrying load at that pressure provides a safety margin above your trailer weight.

In my case, the stock Goodyear Endurance ST255/85R16 E (10 ply) have a max cold tire pressure of 80 psi and carry 4080 lbs per tire (per attached) or 16320 lbs total for 4 tires. My loaded trailer weighs 12880 lbs hitched (weighed it yesterday) and ~15,500 lbs unhitched.

Not easy, try finding air inflation for the Hankook Vantra H31. When you give up let me know. Not all tires are the same!

What size Handcock tires did you install? Also did not find an inflation load table. I found this link to tire specs showing carrying load at maximum air pressure per this link: https://www.hankooktire.com/content/...22_Catalog.pdf.

Not easy, they did not publish one. I had to call their tech department. They had to use my tire manufacturer number to look it up. They said they need to publish this info but for what ever reason corporate has not so far. But the pressures are the same as the Sailun tire 235/85R16 published chart. The same size Vantra T31 is an inch taller than Goodyear 614 but a higher speed rating. I cannot remember but Goodyear was 65 or 70 max.
Looking at your weights you have a light pin weight. Mine is way heavier than Jayco published with my Gen and fuel.
