Compared to that setup, you’ll be in hog heaven!!!
I’m part of the dually crowd, but my thoughts are: if the &@$&%# hits the fan, I want to have more equipment than necessary.

2022 Jayco Eagle 321RSTS
I pull mine with a 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 6.6 gas with a 10 speed Allison. So far know problems. I watch them on you tube pull the Gantlet with same truck with heavier load.

You don't always need a slider hitch for a short bed, really depends on the cap of the 5th wheel and how its designed.

we love our 321 RSTS with F350 D
You're probably fine with the lighter wt gasser but by the time we had a companion slider, dog and all the stuff in our F250 diesel we were over max even with a 28.5RSTS. Traded trailers to the 321 RSTS and went to the F350 and added a 55 gal titan fuel tank and air bags. Love towing with it. 40 mph winds once and didn't even know it. For those who say you don't need a slider, we use ours EVERY time we park it, because with the standard puck mounted companion we only have about 8 inches of room from the tailgate to the trailer if it's down. Much easier to crawl around the back of the truck with the slider back. Multiple stops at CAT scales and we have always been fine.

If it helps any we had a 2018 321RSTS and towed it with a 2018 2500 Silverado. My main concern was staying at the rear axle and tire rating, and we were right there at 6000# with all our stuff and it handled the camper well. However, the truck was a crew cab long bed Duramax which would have helped handling.

Depends too and where the manufacturer has the pucks mounted or where you mount the rails.
I towed my 321RSTS three different standard bed Chevy’s. 2500/3500’s. The ‘22 2500 had a slightly longer bed than the earlier models and the puck mounts were aft of the axle just a bit. Really easy. My other two had rails right over the axle and the hitch setup just a hair aft of that. I had to be a little more careful with those setups. Either way though, the way the 321’s cap is shaped, I made it through tens of thousands of miles towing and nearly 5 years without issue using a fixed B&W hitch.
I’m not familiar with the Ford products and how they’re set up relative to the axle and cab. Could be a bit closer.

I measured the gap between truck (F-250) and trailer (321RSTS) while backing into my driveway. The gap got down to 14 inches with the 12 inch slider extended. That would have been way too close for comfort to me.
As mentioned earlier, we always extend the slider when backing to get the extra foot between tailgate and trailer. It makes it much easier to hitch and unhitch and I can’t imagine squeezing through there with a standard setup.

Are you talking about the gap between the king pin and the tailgate? Most people are concerned with the cap of the 5ver hitting the back window of the truck.
I wouldn't worry about the tailgate gap?

A friend of mine has a Ram 3500 SRW MegaCab, so its a short bed.
We got him 75-80 degrees with his Montana with the gooseneck ball (Gen Y kingpin). Probably could have got 90 degrees, but not while I am spotting hahaha
We then installed and offset ball that moved the ball about 4 in back. Had the same exact result - that extra 4 inches did nothing for him really in terms of turn radius.
The negative of the offset ball was definitely in having that pin weight behind the axle vs right over.

No, I’m talking about the gap between the trailer and the truck window. 2 inches without the slider extended would be too close for me.

That wpuld be at about 70 or 75 degree angle of the truck, most people are never going to be angled that much.

Without my pullrite sliding hitch I don’t think I could park my Fifth Wheel in this spot. I turn left into my driveway (red line) and back into parking place (green line).

Don’t bust out your rear window
Short bed truck + fifth wheel trailer = busted rear window.
Do a search on it. You Must not make tight turns!!!

Trade it in and get a club cab long bed dually. SOLVED! Add airbags, long range fuel tank in the back with 12v pump and shut off valve, tool box, bed cover, B&W fifth wheel plate, Michelin tires and GO!. Happy glamping.

I have been pulling my 2024 RSTS around for almost a year now. From Florida to Michigan last April 2024, several trips around Michigan this past summer, from Michigan to Lubbock TX and back in September and now back to Florida for the winter loaded with gear for the winter stay.
I tow with a 2024 Chev 2500 HD 6.6L gasser single axle with absolutely no issues. I put air bags on and run with 30 PSI in them. Rides level and smooth. Basically do not know it is back there.
I agree there is no need for a dually!
