Problem with sliding closet doors in Pinnacle

I need help with a repair on the sliding doors for the bedroom closet on a 2016 Pinnacle. I have the 38FLSA but I'm guessing all the doors are the same in the bedrooms on Pinnacle and NorthPoints. I would like to know what is on the bottom (inside closet) that holds the doors in the bottom track. Mine appears to have been a very thin piece of wood which have broken due bad idea of storing a folding table in the closet while traveling. I found pieces of broken wood in the bottom of the closet but no screw holes in the door. I think the wood was glued on a bottom corner and when the table feel forward against the doors, the pieces of wood snapped and now the bottom of the doors swing freely. This causes the doors to fall of the upper track when traveling sometimes.

I would appreciate if someone can confirm what is on the bottom of their closet doors so I can make the right fix.

Thanks.

Next time we go down to our unit, will take a look - hopefully this coming week. I know ours has come out of the track but can't remember what was on the bottom.

There should be a plastic piece at the bottom of door that snaps into bottom track.

It has a screw that holds it to the door. Mine stripped out and I drilled thru door and used bolt & lock nut to hold in place.

There is supposed to be a nylon tab that screws to the door and fits into the slot of the bottom track. I constantly had problems with it coming out of the
track on my North Point..........so frustrating that I decided to trade it in

Thanks for the quick responses. Awesome pics Jasum. I’m glad I am not the only one that has had trouble with these tabs. I will publish picks when I get it fixed this week.

Stay tuned for updates.

Ours looks like the pic. I no longer bother to clip it in. As the trailer flexes going down the road it just pulls it out again anyway.

If the doors are not clipped in the tracks at the bottom, the doors will swing in and out at the bottom and fall off the upper track. That will eventually damage the upper track fasteners and risk breaking the mirrors in the doors. I think it would be best to fix the bottom fasteners.

One just won't stay in the rail

I have the bottom door guide clip popping out of the rail every time I tow. Odd thing is it's only the right side clip on the right side sliding door that will not stay in the bottom rail, none of the others do this. I have tried loosening it so it floats, tightening it, so far no success. The rail and guide both appear to be fine. Has anyone figured this issue out?

yes, same problem here from day 1...crappy piece they use.

I believe the screw needs to be loose enough for it to move up and down a little....it may work better in the metal bracket in the link below.

it looks like the plastic piece from this part https://www.etrailer.com/Accessories.../37220585.html

The same one, right side bottom door?

Well that's interesting, those are designed to allow the plastic piece to float. Mine pops out regardless if the screw is tight or loose.

Yes, tab needs to float.

Replace the factory screws with slightly longer wood screws that bite further into the wood, but do not tighten them all the way.

After looking at my track closer today it's also opened up at the ends, probably for easy installation of the tabs. When I place my tab at the spot it sets at with the door closed I can easily pop it in or out. My tabs sit in a routered out groove on the door, I'm not pulling that door to cut a groove farther inboard. I 3D printed a different version with ABS that has tighter tolerances and a longer in rail guide section. I'm also going to try to close the extrusion gap somewhat with a hammer and nylon punch or a big pair o' pliers.
