Problems with Designer slide outs

New owner of a Designer fifthwheel. We are having problems blowing 30 amp fuses in the remote control box. As soon as either of the main slides are moved in or out the fuse blows at the remote control box. The 20 amp fuse in the main panel does not blow. This is a bit odd indicating a problem before the 20 amp supply to the slide out motors. The control for the bedroom slide and the main jack motors works every time, but the living room and kitchen slides blow the fuse about 75% of the time. They will finally deploy but it takes several attempts to get them out and locked in place. The unit is level and no obstructions to the slides. The problem takes place with power connected and with battery alone.
Does anyone have any experence with this type of problem? The unit is brand new 2010.
Thanks

While I haven't had any experience with the problem you've indicated, if the unit is new as you indicated, I'd take it back to the dealer. If this isn't an option my advice would be to call Jayco in Middlebury, IN and tell them what's going on. The unit should be under warranty and so the problem will be covered by Jayco. Call 'em, they should have an answer for you.

As you may know, you can contact Jayco by phone at: 574-825-5861 or go to

Best of luck

I have the Eagle. I've never experienced a ploblem with the slide outs. I recently blew the 30 amp fuse to the front landing pads when I extended them too far. It that normal ?

Hi GMCFiver. Welcome to the Jayco Owners Forum! As Pete said, if your dealer isn't near you, call Jayco and they will authorize you to go to a local-to-your-area shop where it can be diagnosed and fixed. Hope ya get it resolved soon so you can enjoy your new Designer fully!

My 2010 35rlts, the slide for the kitchen would stop 2 or 3 times before it would slide in all the way, the dealer put a new slide motor on, and works great now

GMCfiver I also have a 2010 designer. I had the same problem with my lower three slides. The dealer changed out the remote controler boxes both top and bottom slides. The unit has been ok after repair. We I have had several other problems as the Designer sits at the Dealer now.
We broke in the trailer with a 7,ooo mile trip down to Texas just Loved it. We are in for a new Mattress & TV (Junk) and couple small things. I am sure Jayco will take care of the problems.
Good Luck !!! Wayne

Thanks for the replies. It does seem like an issue with the controls rather than the slideouts.
