Progressive dynamics inc. Converter

Hello, I have a progressive dynamics inc converter. Model number is pd4560wi. I just bought 2 12v 100Amps each lithium batteries, 24 v,200 amp's total. My question is, can my converter charge these batteries? Also I cancan't find the manual on the internet. Any help would be appreciated. 2021 Jayco north point.

I bought a PD converter maybe 7 years ago, before Lithium batteries were really a thing in RVing. A year or two ago, they replaced it for me under warranty (electrical buzzing sound developed) and the new one they sent me was the exact same model but it had a slight difference - there was a jumper pin on the board that had to be set appropriately depending on whether you were charging Lithium batteries or not. So I believe the old ones don't have that feature, and the newer ones do.

If you give them a phone call, their customer service and technical advice is very good.

According to the following PD web page 'link' the 4500 Series units have a Lead Acid/Lithium Switch (new feature). The web page also has some product manual and lithium switch location/instruction links.

https://www.progressivedyn.com/rv/po...s/4500-series/

As mentioned, a call to PD with your PD 4560 serial number will confirm.

2 - 100Ah batteries in parallel is 12 volts and 200Ah, in series it is 24 volts and 100Ah, not 24 volts and 200Ah.

If your converter doesn’t have a lithium setting you can buy a new converter that is lithium capable from Progressive Dynamics and swap it out while retaining the rest of the power panel. I did that on mine and it is an easy swap.

Take the cover off. I have that one. On my board there is a black wire and a white wire going into silver lugs. Just above that there is a switch S2. There is a LI and a LA. I think if you switch it to LI that will change the charge rate for lithium batteries. Jayco told me it only charges lead acid but after more research I found out about the switch.

If I may barge in on this thread, I have a 2021 Pinnacle 36FBTS. In the manual bag it says I have aPD4500 series unit that may be similar to the OP's. My question is, where is it located? I found the inverter inside the basement but no luck so far with the converter.

Interesting, will take a look. Our breaker panel is near the floor on the wall when you walk in the unit.

Mine is also. On mine, to access the back, I have to pull a kitchen slide out work table to see.....but there is nothing there but wires. All the works are in front behind the breaker panel.

You win!! just below the breaker panel, and once opened it has an open hole and it says wizard and something else, but it points right to the LA/LI switch. Very nifty.
