Propane regulator

ISO recommendations for spare auto change over propane regulator. Nothing wrong with current reg. Just being OCD.

We bought a Marshall Excelsior 254-00 that was on sale somewhere. We've had it for several years, now, and haven't needed it yet. What we did replace, were the pigtails from it to the tanks.

I've had to replace 2 regulators. 2 different campers. From my limited experience both of mine still worked somewhat. The first one said it was empty when I had almost a full tank. The second one did about the same thing. They didn't leave me stranded.

Agree with extra pig tails. My rig is just over warranty and yes I have had to replace one. Depending on the future camping I might opt out for the extra regulator also. Thanks!

Would you care to share what make and model regulator you purchased?

I replaced them with the same models that were installed before.

My original regulator failed after a couple of years full time use. Then within another couple of months one of the pigtails failed so I replaced both of them. Now no issues for the past 8 years.

It causes one to wonder why the original regulator and pigtails wouldn't last even 2 years and the replacements, which weren't anything abnormal just what was on CW's shelf, are still going 8 years later.

I had to replace mine after the 2nd trip this fall. Would only draw from one side and showed the other as empty. Got the same one again, but if it fails, I'd get something different.
