pull out wastebasket undersized

2020 pinnacle 32rlst.
Our pull out wastebasket is annoyingly undersized, it seems I'm taking out the trash way too often. The original one is a sterilite 5.5 gallon and there is a lot of room underneath for a deeper one if I could find one the proper size. Been to the stores, no luck. Shopping online only gives overall dimensions sometimes, if at all. I'm looking for something that sits in the frame 13 3/4* 8 1/2 * 21 deep. Anyone have a suggestion, or possibly even a different slideout mechanism? No, having the DW take out the trash isn't an option.....

You got me to thinking. We have a double trash bin drawer in our kitchen island here at home, so I did some measuring. Ours sit in wire basket holders on the bottom of the drawer. They're Rubbermaid SKU#FG295700BEIG. The inside measurements at the top of the baskets is about 14 1/2" x 9 1/2" and 20" deep. (The outside dimension of the lip is another inch or so in length and width.) A little bit larger than your dimensions for the cutout, but if there's room enlarge it, this may work. Just a thought.

Thank you! That info at least gets me closer to finding a larger one. Rubbermaid makes many sizes and with your dimensions I can at least guesstimate the size at the lip. It does look like I could modify the slideout a bit but I'd rather find a drop in replacement.
It seems I have the ability to make simple problems way too complex!🤔

If you want some more or different measurements like the size of the upper lip let me know. I'll measure them more precisely..

I guessed 3/4 inch lip on a 8 gallon wastebasket which is 3 gallons larger. Am I close? Thanks again!

The lip on ours measure 1/2", and there are two vertical tabs on each side that come down 1" to keep the actual lip from contacting a surface. Probably to facilitate getting your fingers under the lip to lift it out.

Sucess!

Thanks for the measurements JFR. I found the perfect relacement size, a 35 quart hardware resources brand, #CAN-35. A bit pricey, made in china, but it's larger and fits great into the pull out.
