Question about solar prep by Go Power on 2016 Jayco

I just purchased an EAGLE FIFTH WHEEL | 325BHQS equipped with Rooftop and ground solar prep by Go Power. I am a little confused as to what this means since most solar info pages i reviewed said a solar system needs a special controller to prevent over charging.

Does anyone know if the solar prep by Go Power on the 2016 JAYCOs require any additional components beside the photovoltaic cells? There is not much information in the manual and I am tired of my batteries being dead when I go grab the trailer.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

We have this system installed on our 2015 Pinnacle. There is a panel (in the bedroom) that was installed that monitors the battery charging and tells us battery status. This system has kept our 4-6volt batteries charged perfectly!

Basically, they installed connectors and undersized wiring for you.

The "Solar on the side" is made for a portable panel that has an integral charge controller type thing. Usually very small wattage (<100) systems.

The roof top solar is just the rooftop connectors and undersized wiring. You have to buy a charge controller and panels at a minimum. You should have a sticker inside your camper staying where they want you to put the controller. In my 29.5BHDS it is no where near the battery, which makes it a very poor choice of location. This, along with the wiring would lead to disappointing performance.

Gopower provides the components to Jayco for installation in hopes of selling lots of their over priced systems.
