Rainer tires

Jayco has stopped putting them on their RVs because they are poorly designed and develop bulges I would like to know if anyone has any problems with them I think jayco should replace them I have a 2017 pinnacle bought in October of 2016 have reservations about towing with these tires maybe a class action lawsuit against jayco is in order.

We have towed 21000 miles with the original Rainer tires. We will replace them before going to Alaska as the next journey will have significant travel on gravel roads.

Not seen any uneven wear or bulging.. Whether you wish to participate in a lawsuit is your decision. We have no basis for one.

Had a bad blow out with less than 2000 miles causing $1.5k in side wall damage. Changed the tire and pulled into Firestone; two of the 3 remaining tires had 5" bulges on them. Replaced all four and called my warranty contact. She offered to pursue but advised they will question weight, speed and air pressure; none of which can be proven after the fact. If I had known the history of Rainiers, I would have pushed harder for factory replacements. Now she wishes we had elevated the issue too. Good idea and good luck.

I had a blowout at 2500 miles, but luckily no damage. I replaced them upon returning home.

Over 10,000 miles on our Rainiers, so no problem, yet.

Replaced mine with a set of Maxxis after only 500 miles of towing. Brakes and tires are 2 things I never cheap out on...

Over 10k and 2 years with some fairly harsh conditions (very hot pavement and long travel etc) I check them often and they don't see more than 65mph, so dar so good. Hoping to get another year or so out of them.

I've got about 8K miles on my tires, trouble free. I make sure to check the air pressure before we tow and take special precautions not to hit pot holes or bounce over curbs, as that is more likely to cause damage.

OMG.

These threads really have me hating my Raniers.

So to the OP, ours have been fine so far, but I'm replacing them sometime this year after less than 3000 miles.

That bulge in the picture above looks like something out of the Elephant Man. Scary stuff.

Damn,

That is what I call bulges on the side of a tire. Have Rainer tire's on my new 2016 Jayco North Point 341RLTS. The RV is going on a seasonal site this year and next year. Will replace before I start towing it next fall.

They've been great for me so far. I replaced mine after about 10 months of use with the Rainers due to a bald spot that showed it's ugly face. I went off of Magnolia Tom's recommendation and haven't looked back. I've had them on since November of '16 and they've been great thus far.
