I think a search will bring you a number of threads on this but the general wisdom, and instructions say do not level with the slides out. It puts undo stress on the slides. Level and then slides out and leave it alone.

I agree - too many variables. I was tempted to just do a necessary adjustment and it prob would have been fine but I erred on the side of caution and pulled them all in.

Especially with auto level - it jerks around a bit and any bouncing may be fine but why take the risk?

I always fine tune after the slides are out. The my two slides are on the same side and tend to tilt the trailer that way. Also the jacks sink a bit. I auto level, put slides out and fine tune as needed with manual adjustments. I monitor the levelness and adjust as needed daily. Typically only needed once. Depends how soft the ground is.

Everything rv

As long as your rig doesnt require large adjustments i believe its all good to auto level with slides out, im on soft ground so i auto level about 3 times a season and i have never had a problem

Before you do that check you owner’s manual. Some manufacturers specifically say don’t with the slides out.

I level before I put the slides out but, after automatic leveling, I sometimes tweak the level setting a little higher on my large slide side since I know the slide will tend to tilt the RV a little. I am getting pretty good at guestimating how much to tweak it.

The manual for my Class A instructs to level prior to putting slides out and to level again prior to bringing them in.
