Re-seal seams on fiberglass walls

I have some seams/joints on the walls of my 5th wheel in which the factory caulk is starting to fail. What is a good caulk to redo these seams. Thanks
Bill

Quad sealant is what the factory uses. Comes in several colors so make sure you buy the right one. I use clear.

I also used ISO Quad. It worked really well.

If you have not used it before, it is a bit different than regular caulking, in my opinion. It sticks like grim death, and if you apply more than you want and smear iti, t is impossible to remove.

What I found, Apply blue painters tape where you do not want the caulk. When you remove the tape you will have a clean caulk line. Cut a SMALL tip on the tube, you do not want a lot to come out. Have a small container (to hold a cup or so of water) Add what I think is a lot of dish soap to the water a couple teaspoons worth, and mix it together. Dont forget a couple paper towels. If you use enough soapy water you will not need the paper towels.

Apply the quad to location, but not a lot. Dip your finger into the soapy water and have it dripping wet. Wipe the Quad smooth, repeat as needed. Add more quad as needed. When wet it will blend in nicely with the other wet quad. It does not seam to matter if the wall is wet, it will stick to the wall. With wet fingers you can roll up the Quad and press it into little spaces. But if your finger is dry, it will stick to you too.

It is good stuff, I have not found a way to store a tube of ISO Quad for more than a couple days once it is opened. So check all your seams.

Best Luck!

The information on the tube says to use mineral spirits ! If water and soap works I like that a lot better.

I know he keeps referring to "silicone" but wonder if this would work also to keep ISO Quad from going where you don't want it either. Would be great if it works.

Quad sealant is a little different than home use silicone. That being said it might give you a little more time to get it cleaned up with MS using that technique.

I would describe it as a cross between adhesive and silicone.

Like the process though.
