Rear camera

So, I have tried reading and deciphering instructions for back up camera. It came preinstalled, so I just need to power it up, but how? Do I just install camera receiver in truck and then camera gets power when i put truck in reverse?

Mine is powered with the running lights. I forget that almost every time I use it and think it's gone bad until I turn on the running lights.

Right. On our truck, the running lights (and therefore the rear camera) only work when the the headlights are turned on manually as opposed to automatic. Took me some time to figure this out after the first trip home from the dealer. On our Pinnacle there is pre-wiring in the bedroom to add a separate switch for the rear camera that is separate from the running lights but I have not gotten around to it (someday, Al).

Thanks! I may finally add a switch and use the backup camera while we're parked!

Mine had the camera inverted as well. So the cars coming up on the driver side looked like they were on the right side of the screen. Took a little bit of trial and error, and a Google search and now its set up well.

Very handy addition.

Thanks, this will come in handy where we go camping to keep an eye open for critters.

Mine has a rocker switch in the battery compartment. Had to slide batteries a bit to access it.
