Rear installed hitch

2017 NP 381 DLQS -

Anyone know how much weight the installed hitch at the rear of the RV can support?

Rear hitch

From what I was told and found on the Jayco sight.

Tongue weight of 300 weight and 3000 pounds of total weight.

Then hitch does look to be well installed which was one of the selling points for us, Since we plan on flat towing a Jeep wrangler behind it.

We just purchased a Jayco Eagle HT 24.5 CKTS.

The hitch is an accessory hitch only. Meant for bike racks or cargo racks only. Not meant for towing.

Rear installed hitch

On the Eagle HT line, it is a towing hitch rated for 3000#. It's actually the same hitch on the NP's and Pinnacles, they are just too long and heavy to double tow with.

Never thought of it that way. It seems to be on there decent but your right they would be to long. I'm probably gonna haul my SxS with it at some point anyways. I'm gonna make it bolt onto the bumper on the back. I know the bumper isn't stout at all but I just want to do that since the receiver tube sticks out so far to clear the bumper.

North Point and Pinnacle hitches are totally different than the Eagle version.

I too installed a bumper clam on the last 5r I had. My cousin made a nice rack for it and I carried some nice firewood on it. However I found the rack self lowering on the second load on the second outing. Not good. Found that the only good the bumper clamp was good for was bicycles. I still have that rack. With all the restrictions on beetles and transferring wood I wonder if you can transfer the new "killed dried" wood that you buy at the campground.
