Rear Stabilizer Question

I have a 2018 Jayco Eagle 5th wheel. The rear stabilizers are touchy. If you keep your finger on the extend just a fraction of a 2nd too long you have to retract manually. Is this common? Is there overload protection on the circuit? As soon as I manually retract just a fraction the switch seems to work fine.

There is a self resetting CB, 2 or 2.5 amp, don't recall. Do you still have to retract it manually if you wait 20 seconds or so? If so I'd look into the wiring connections and switch connections and the switch. If all checks out the motor could be the issue. Is it tight when you manually retract it?

Hi Earl. Thanks for responding. I’ve tried waiting but it doesn’t reset until I take even the slightest pressure off, like 1/2 turn with the manual auger, then at that point when I hit the retract switch it will retract all the way. Thinking I may have a CB.

My unit is at the dealer for winter warranty repairs, so I can't look at mine. If I recall, the CB is mounted near the motor with a red cover on it.
Either your motor has an issue or the CB, wiring or connections. Could be a dead spot in the motor. Low voltage causing it to trip out. Low voltage means high current draw.
My previous trailer the CB went bad and I ordered one off of eBay. Finding that low of a amp CB wasn't easy. Mine stopped working completely. Went to retract and it didn't move either way. Had to hand crank it all the way up.

Okay, I’ll crawl underneath mine shortly and take a good look. Thanks again
