Rear window pleated shade

Down in Florida for a few months and just had the cord break on the large rear window shade. Anyone else have this happen? Wondering who manufactures the shade and could it be restrung.

Most rv dealers have the string replacement kits or will do it for you.
Its not hard but you need a space large enough to spread the blind out and take the blind down. Should have screws up behind on window side

I have replaced a broken cord on one of ours. It's not hard to do, and all you need is a cord kit, a good size table, and a little time. The instructions on how to do it are included in the kit. The most difficult part I had, was getting the end caps pried out in one piece, but it can be done with patience. This is for a kit with white cord.

All the parts you need are in the kits. Cord (enough for several repairs), springs, and grommets. You can do it for a lot less than paying labor at a dealer...unless you're independently wealthy!

Thank you both. I have black cords on mine. I will check tomorrow at a dealer.
If I cant find black I will order a spool on Amazon.

It's not bad at all. If you do not have the day/night shades, the repair is even easier. You will see angle brackets under the valance, to get it off the wall. Un screw the valance, leaving the angle brackets on the wall. It makes it a lot easier to put it back up. The side cord ends tie onto a spring in the top bar, run down through the pleats, and cross in the bottom bar, then out the end caps to the adjusting knobs screwed to the wall. Hint: squeeze the pleats together, melt the tips of the cords with a match (like a nylon rope does), and push them through the holes on the sides. (Squeezed together, it becomes one 'hole').

I used a 8ft folding table and very large needle to thread the string. The dinette table just wasn't big enough. Scotch taping the strings when tying it to the springs will ensure it will not come loose. Nobody want to do a redo. Additionally, I ordered a 500ft roll of the string for use on other shades. Needed it...
