TexasRT,

Gotta love your advice... If you're thinking your spending too much time on the walk through... spend MORE Time!!!

We hope to heed this advice if and when our unit is complete, we will definitely keep this forum updated with our experience... good, bad or indifferent...

Thanks again everyone!!

Thanks AZ, I've waxed it once since we got it in May and that was a lot of fun on an August day in Texas. I just keep it washed regularly. We've had it in the same park since we bought it (it's our weekend home), so we haven't needed to trailer the golf cart yet. Texas has a 65' length limit so it goes without saying I would be over that, but I may try it someday.

PDI was great. The tech was very thorough. He did an excellent job of demonstrating and explaining the things we were not familiar with. He found a couple of things that needed fixed while we were doing the PDI. My wife, recorded on her tablet, all the instructions for and demonstrations for things we were not familiar with. Probably spent minimum of 2 1/2 hours with him.

Picked our unit up on Thursday in Mississippi. Drove home to Arkansas (appx. 200 miles home), truck and 5'ver both did great. Loaded up the 5th wheel on Friday and headed out for the shakedown trip. Only went about 60 miles from home, but, we could go to the Fall Carnival with the granddaughter and be with family on Saturday evening. Overall good 1st trip. Did find a few things that need fixed. Nothing major wrong discovered at this time and I can fix most. (1) Lavatory drain in 1/2 bath leaks due to broken connections and therefore not sealed at the drain. (2) Bottom of corner cabinet in 1/2 bath has a loose piece on bottom. (3) kitchen faucet came on during trip home (used bungee cord on Friday), took care of that. (4) bracket that holds top outside radio antenna broken. (5) loose lower panel on drivers side above sewer pipe, fixed by matching the screw up with the hole on the connecting panel. (6) pull chain found in drawer for ceiling fan (will work on that tomorrow). So, not much discovered after a 3 nighter.
Headed out again Thursday for a 5 nighter. So, so far ..... pretty good.
All the friends and family that have looked at the 5'ver so far have really liked it.

As other have stated, the mattress leaves a lot to be desired.

Okraman,
Sounds like a good first time out, glad it went good for you.
One thing I would suggest would be take some time and check ALL the fittings for all the sinks, drains, waterlines etc. I found a couple that needed a little snugging up, and I'm sure I probably prevented a future leak issue. Enjoy your next trip...

Rock and AZ_FBTS, both of you are scheduled to pickup your units this week aren't you? Good luck and take your time on the PDI. Our tech was good, even had his own DVD to check out the Stereo and sound. Had the antenna tuned in for local TV. Looking forward to your reports upon taking delivery of your units.

Regarding my leaking sink in the 1/2 bath, we actually ran water in that one during the PDI. I think they broke it during installation and covered it up with something that felt like Petroleum jelly. The nut that tightens/compresses the washer/gasket on the drainpipe under the sink bowl was broken. Upon further examination found that the pipe itself was broken and it was all heavily coated in the petro jelly like stuff.

TexasRT, good advise on going back and checking all the water lines, etc.. Will do that tomorrow. Pulled the 5'ver into the backyard when we got home on Monday, so I could open the slides and fix whatever I found and was able.

Also recommend asking about the bolts in the front steps. There was a recall. Ours failed and 2 bolts snapped. We fixed one ourselves. Dealer has since replaced all of them.
