You might try a childproof refrigerator lock. I had to get one years ago to keep my 2 year old son out of the frig. It should work for keeping the doors shut while traveling down the road. I would think Amazon would have them yet. It kept him out of the frig but was still easy for an adult or older child to open the door.

I just looked on Amazon and there is a Dreambaby childproof latch that is similar to the one we used years ago. I hope this helps!

Jayco installed our latch like that incorrectly (not aligned properly) and it opened on us while going down the road. End result was two dented doors and quite a mess! After numerous pictures and even a video that showed the slightest jiggling allowed the latch to open on it's own, Jayco replaced both doors and the latch, which now appears to work properly.

So moral of the story, make absolutely sure it is installed correctly!

And even though my followup tests of jiggling and moving the door up and down no longer opens the new latch like it did the original one, I fashioned a couple of Velcro straps and use them in addition to the latch. Not having it happen again!
