refrigerator shelves

Finally got around to cutting 1/4 inch plexigass for additional shelving in our Whirlpool residential fridge. Makes a huge difference...never figured out why they don't come with the unit. If your interested they are 11 3/4"x 11 3/4".but don't have a heart attack when buying plexiglass...75 bucks for a 2'x4' sheet at Lowes. But the wife is happy, so there is that!!!!

Excellent, I have been looking for something to do the same after finding out those glass shelves are $75-90 a piece...

Plexiglass will work but I think it was on this forum sometime back that someone suggested using plastic cutting board material, which is what I did. I have a decent wood shop and its easy to cut on a table saw and rout. I cut some rabbets in mine so they stay in place.

I used a Winco cutting board I found on Amazon for $31.37, at least that's the price now. It is 24x18x1/2 which was enough to get 2 shelves out of it, all I needed. Sure makes the freezer side much more versatile. I've used them for 2 full camping seasons and no issues whatsoever.
