Remote for Slides and jacks
Does anyone know where the controller for the remote system is located on a 31.5 BHTS?

There are two (or is it four?) tiny Phillips screws on the back of the remote. Remove them and the back cover will come off. The battery is in there. The battery is a 24C or C24, depending on the manufacturer of the battery. They label them both ways. You should be able to get it any hardware store or home improvement store. I got mine at Lowe's.

My remote constantly quits working mid stride. Although my unit is only 6 months old, no telling how old the batteries are in the remote. I guess the next project is to remove the batteries and see how hard it is to find replacements. If the batteries are replaced, does anyone know if the transmitter will have to be re pared with the receiver???
Thanks in advance for any responses. You gotta just love this forum!

My remote battery is a 24A (at least that's the note that I took). Our remote is "quirky" and will sometimes stop in mid stride too. It's annoying. When I replaced the battery I did not have to re pare it.
There was a thread a few weeks ago regarding a slide moving on its own in the middle of the night. Turn out the receiver was bad. That's MORE than annoying!

If your remote only works intermittently, it is possible you are moving too far away from the receiver. My remote works only when I am near the door/storage compartment area of my 321RLTS. I assume the receiver is in the storage compartment and has a very limited range. It doesn't make any difference which side of the camper I am on, just how far I am standing from the compartment.
Also, inside or outside doesn't make any difference. Distance from the receiver seems to be the main factor in my case.

Yeah, it's mostly related to distance. Our receiver is behind a small "hatch" (maybe 6"x12") on the rear of the basement wall on the door side. It has a loose wire antenna that may need re-orienting.

I said earlier in the thread that the batteries are 24C or C24. I may have been mistaken. It may be 24A or A24.
The batteries Jayco puts in the remotes are junk. Ours never worked when we picked up our camper. It would turn itself off in the middle of a function, as described above. The dealer got me a battery from another unit. It was junk, too. A new Energizer alkaline battery solved my problems.

Ours will turn itself off (blue light goes off) when the batt gets weak.
