Question Removing propane tanks

The propane tanks in our 2017 Jayco Eagle 5th wheel are a tight fit. We can't figure out how to get them out without bending the door ridge or breaking some part. Help!

I find that fully opening the door helps a lot!
Fold it right around up against the camper.

I tilt mine in and out. Kinda of a lift/tilt method. Mine has 40# tanks due to generator prep. I also open the door wide open.

Our HT 30.5MBOK is also tight and wants to bend the bottom flange of the opening when the tanks are removed. Also, not really deep enough for 30# tanks and the door bulges a little when closed. When I took it to the Dealer in the 1st month of ownership they said they couldn't do anything about it & that it was a poor design & "nature of the beast"!! I'm thinking about dropping & re-welding the bottom an inch, if possible, but it's still gonna be a chore to get them in & out. Good luck.........

It is a poor design.. Getting them out of my 18 RSTS is painless because the tanks are light. Getting them back in is my problem. One more inch on entry side would fix this problem. Jayco needs to figure that out. In the meantime bending the bottom lip will be the norm..

I built and installed a wooden ramp from the tank base to the edge of the door frame opening. I can slide the tanks in and out without hitting the door frame. The tanks are still heavy to deal with, but no damage to the door frame.
