Learned something new on this video. I have never used Permatex or any other gasket sealer on the inner seals. Is it just me, or am I the only one in the dark on this step. If you do use a sealer, which one do you use. I use Timken bearings and grease.

I’m pretty sure that’s for boat trailers which will have their wheels under water. I don’t use gasket sealer on the TT.

Thanks. Is there a special kind due to the heat that can be generated? How do you clean the permatex when you put in a new seal?

I’m usually a “do it myself” person but since I’m still in warranty I’m having the dealer take care of. They quoted $250.00 total.

Not sure exactly one I use, as there are two Permatex Black, they are all good around heat, one is better around fuel, but will work around grease too.

To clean the old off, I have used a green Scotchbrite pad.
