Replaced Vent Fan

Today I replaced the junk bathroom vent fan that came on our 2017 28.5RSTS with a MAXX Fan and I was impressed with the amount of air it draws through the bedroom windows.

Good move! Those OEM bathroom fans are seriously lacking when it comes to moving air.

Several on this site have replaced the OEM fan with Vortex II fans. The change can be done quickly, all from the inside of the trailer, and they don't require messing with the roof sealing.

X2 on the Vortex fans

Adding the vent cover on the roof also added to easy air handling and no rain worries. Cuts down on heat gain too.

I like that fan. I’m on my second trailer with the junk fan. The last one, I wasn’t thinking and eternabonded it. Made it a keeper. Was the swap pretty straight forward?

Nothing to it, took less than two hours to swap them out. Make sure to use a round edge putty knife to remove the sealant from the old fan and also to pry it up from the roof when the screws and sealant are removed. The round edge putty knife also helps to keep from gouging or tearing the rubber roof when removing sealant.

Do a search for Maxxfan Deluxe. There are different models that have different options and are available in both black and white.

Replaced both our bathroom fan and a passive vent (no fan) in the living area of our Eagle TT and love them. We bought the 7500k, which is the most feature filled one with a remote.

Makes it a lot better in regards to airflow, especially with our frameless windows but most importantly, the DW loves them so was well worth the work and cost.

Gasket replace?

When you installed your fan, did your reuse the plastic gasket in the ceiling? The one that comes with the Maxx air fan is too shallow for our roof.
