Replacement tablet for 22 Northpoint 377rlbh

Does anyone know what a good replacement for the stock android tablet would be? Ours does NOT have the buttons below the tablet. Having problems staying connected.

What kind of connection issues? Bluetooth or cloud connection? both? Is the tablet charged and running? Biggest issue with these tablets has been the internal battery going bad and tablet will go in what folks here are calling the dreaded boot loop, where it is trying to start and not enough juice from the charger.

Did you read the thread titled “no buttons on current jay command”? It might answer some of your questions.

As long as the tablet is powered and on, your issue with dropped connection is more than likely related to the Wi-Fi itself. In our case, Winegard, which controls the "cloud" connection, would drop the home network. I fixed that by getting rid of our previous router and replacing it with the Amazon Eero router. So far, no issues. If your battery is going bad, you will have issues with it trying to reboot constantly.

I know its not the internet. I have very good fiber optic and am using an eero. I think its the battery in the tablet. But not sure.

Have you talked to your dealer about not having the buttons on the bottom of the tablet? It appears to me you could have a tablet that might need to be replaced with the correct one. Maybe I’m wrong but it may be worth a call to your dealer, I would think a 2022 north point would have the buttons on the bottom of the pad.

It may well be the battery. Mine is out this morning, and if I walk to the camper, I am sure it will show it doing the boot loop routine.

No, I was wrong, it had dropped off the JayCommand app and to the android screen. That happens sometimes as well.

Look at this whole thread and pay attention around post #44. As best I can tell, non-OEM replacement tablets tend to have some shortcomings and not allowing all functions to work.

I very recently had my touch pad replaced under warranty. The new pad has the buttons while the original did not.

I hope it works.

The buttons are hard wired to the node. Here are some pictures showing the tablet mount. The bezel around the tablet comes out with tablet as one unit. The "buttons" remain on the wall and fully functional. There is a wire bundle from the camper with a female connector that attaches to the green board. The bottom picture is the top of the bezel where the tablet slides under.

After reading this I want to clarify some things..

1. The Bluetooth (from the tablet or from any phone) is connected to the node (the brain of the system), not TO the controller/tablet.

2. The tablet acts like any other Bluetooth device once connected and has ALL functionality, including the cloud function etc.. if in the controller holder (I believe it will even outside of the controller holder as well, but have not tested that, someone else might have). It does not matter if it is the OEM tablet or a aftermarket one, they all work the same, just download the app off the playstore. If you got to an aftermarket one make sure it fits.. What I have seen is the cheaper older 7" tablets are most likely candidates for this. Just try and look at pictures of it and compare the power location and connection type before you buy.

3. The cloud functionality will connect through ANY WiFi, not just the Winegard, as long as the tablet has a strong WiFi a connection is made. Its the tablets WiFi connection to the WiFi source that is used and allows remote access.

4. The pairing instructions for the lite version are here: https://teambmpro.com/wp-content/upl...-Lite-v1.0.pdf

5. Once you get it working again I strongly suggest pairing your phones as well as another tablet (iPad or Android) just in case. The tablet version of the app is a little different from the phones.

Lastly this vendor on eBay has replacement tablets/controllers from time to time, you might want to reach out to them to see if they have any available that are not posted. The ones I have seen from them (including the one I bought) have the buttons. https://www.ebay.com/str/bontragersrvsurplus

I unfortunately doubt that Jayco will swap it out for free to the button version but always worth a ask to the dealer and to Jayco separately. But if the current one is not working you might get lucky and get a button one under warranty....

Thank you!! That helps a lot. I contacted my dealer yesterday explaining our issue, she actually told me she would try to get it replaced for me with one with the buttons. I am hoping that will be the case. Until then, I am looking for a separate table to use if the one that is in it fails completely.

My dealer is working with Jayco to get us the button version! Keeping fingers crossed. They evidently have someone new at the dealership that actually gives a hoot about the customers after the sale. She has been awesome this week. The one we had to talk to before was just a jerk and could not care less.
