2.5" hail provided the opportunity to replace our skylight and bathroom vent with better than factory. (Same with the door glass; finally got smoked see-through instead of frosted and love it!) Skylight is Lexan. Replaced simple vent with 3 speed reversible fantastic fan. What a difference! We really like it! However the closed bathroom door impeded the air flow so I removed two inches of the door near the top then replaced the top on the shortened door. Now the powerful fan has plenty of circulation in the trailer even with the door closed. The shortened door also allows for more room for the several plastic over-the-door hooks we hang from it.

Nice Zuidy!
Did you have to drill any new holes, etc...? Any issues while replacing? Issues to avoid? Very interested in doing this.
The original POS is ok with me once you replace the switch, but man is it noisy!!

I pulled the fan down with the 4 screws and cut out where the old fan shroud was to enlarge the opening. I left the flaps that close the vent, but I always leave them open. I replaced the shroud then installed 2 aluminum brackets for the new fan to mount on. I had to notch the corners of the new fan housing to fit the corner bumps. Took about an hour and a half to do the whole job.
I will take a few pictures tonight to show what I cut and notched, and the brackets I made.

I cut out as much as I could. I mounted the brackets using self tapping screws. I notched the corners to fit around bumps that are in the trim ring.

This topic comes up often and I think an earlier response gives a couple of those threads.
To be honest I have not found a bathroom fan replacement that was specifically designed for the bathroom that did not sound like a freight train going through. On top of that as mentioned in some of the other threads my 5'2" wife could not reach the controls on the ceiling fan. I replace this one and the one in the RV prior by Fantastic remote control, rain sensor fans.

It may say "Senior member" under my name, but that just means I ask a lot of questions! lol
ok, how can I save/pin this thread so I never lose it? It may be a few months before I swap out this fan, and don't want to lose this info/pics.
thanks in advance.

So do I but it only worked the fan that came with the rig. It did not work when I replaced it.

Unfortunately the easy breeze vents out the sides and you cannot just change up the fan to make any improvement.
You will need to replace the whole unit with a maxxair or fantastic fan
I went with a maxxair unit and a vent mate cover.
Wish I had spent the extra on the remote version. Better half can't reach the fan controls or open it without a foot stool
The maxxair is very quiet and multispeed. Even on low it moves more air than the easy breeze

Hi, Question for RoadrunnerII
We also have a 321RSTS and I am looking at installing the Maxx Air 00-07500K with remote. Our roof top to ceiling is 7.5" THe instructions say it will fit up to a 6.5" ceiling to roof. I assume your ceiling was the same. Did the inner trim cover OK or was there a gap you had to deal with?
Thanks for any advice, Dan

Thanks, I had thought that might be my option if the one that comes with it doesn't fit. My fan is on order so we will see. Appreciate the response.

Look at the top of the thread in the blue band, there is a "Thread Tool", click that and then choose Subscribe to Thread.
Then in your profile/CP, you will see it in the list of threads that you subscribed to.
Cheers!!

Hey Zuidy. I am getting ready to replace my POS original fan and kept your thread about your experience and install.
Sounds like you left the flaps open for the top cover. No issues with water ever coming in? I assume no way to operate them once you replace the fan?
You also mentioned the switch is on the wall? Anyway on using the controls on the fan to operate?
It looks like you left the outer shell of the old fan assembly there and then used self-tapping screws to attach to the old assembly?
Sorry to ask these simple questions...

Yes I left the flaps open and didn’t have any issues with water. I used self tapping screws and made my own mounts to hold the new fan in place. I also had to notch the corners of the new fan to fit the old housing. The switch on the wall turns the fan on and off, use the switches on the fan to adjust speed and direction. Good luck with the install. I have since traded in the trailer for an Eagle fifth wheel, but never had any problems with what I changed.

Ok, that could be an issue, I don't have a wall switch that operates the fan,; only on the fan itself. We have an HT model so we can reach it. Can you elaborate on the mounts you made please?

I zoomed in and saw your new mounts. I will find something to work. I guess I will just need to install my switch on the side of the fan (up top somewhere) since I don't have a wall switch.
thanks for your help.

The mounts are just some brackets from a hardware store made to fit on 2x4 to screw. You don’t need a wall switch, my old trailer had one but you can just use the switches on the fan. Just be sure to pull fuse for the fan before wiring.
