Ride height

Good evening, Campers.
I will be heading out for the 2nd trip with my new Eagle 355 next week and am concerned about the height of my trailer while traveling. I recently upgraded trucks, went from a F250 to a F350 that sits maybe just a couple inches taller in the rear. I have been through the Hampton Roads bridge tunnel with my 355 and F250 and didn't have any issues at all. My question is, does anyone know if there will be a noticeable height difference with my new truck? I have a 2nd AC up forward too. I am asking this because I met a gentleman tonight that has a Eagle 360 with an AC up forward and he was stopped at the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel because his trailer was almost too tall to travel that 17 mile bridge. I did notice that his Chevy was a lifted truck and he does have air bags so I am not certain how much squat he was experiencing. My truck does not have air bags.

Tape measure is your friend, because even if somebody else has a setup like yours, they could be at a different height. Things like tire size, weight your are carrying, suspension and so on can make a difference on your height, particularly if you are running close to the MAX allowed at those places.

When I was looking at trucks last year, a SRW f350 was 3" taller at the tailgate than a f250....both had same size wheels and tires. A DRW f350 was a shade shorter than the F250s, about an inch shorter IIRC. All were 4x4.

So...Today I was able to get a measurement. I loaded the trailer onto the hitch until the front jacks were off the ground. This F350 Only squatted about 2 inches total. I took a rough measurement and came up with 13 feet, and just about 5 or 6 inches. Its hard to get an accurate measurement. I will be heading out this upcoming weekend and I checked the height restrictions of the Hampton Roads Bridge tunnel and its 13 feet 6 inches. I am not sure of the exact height of the tunnel but anything taller than what I have will require having a special permit to pass through. I wish there was a better way to know my exact numbers.

If you can find something that's above the RV, storage unit beam for example, and measure it's height and then measure the gap it will give you an accurate trailer height...eyeballing from the side can be a couple of inches off.. Dealer said mine was 13'-6", I measured mine and was 13'5-3/4"...
If you clear by an inch or a foot or 5 feet.. it's all the same....

Get a 2x4 that is pretty straight and put it on top of your front AC unit or anything that is higher than your AC.
Then take your tape and measure from the ground to the bottom of the 2x4.
Should tell you your exact height.
