Roadmaster Comfort Ride Suspension System

Has anyone installed the Roadmaster Comfort Ride Slipper Spring Suspension System and Confort Ride Shocks on their 5th Wheel trailer. If so, how is it doing?

They look like the Joy Rider system to me. There are several positive comments on the joy rider system

I have the Roadmaster system on my F150 Crew Cab it is a outstanding system i just returned from Colorado 3300 mile round trip. It preformed great even in 40 mile winds which was rough.

IMHO just about anything you do is probably better than the stock on most trailer. It's just going to be a matter of how much money and work you want to put into it.

For the bigger trailers the MORryde IS is probably going to be top of the line but also lots of dollars and you have to go to them.

There are things you can do to help with longevity. Heavy duty shackles and wet bolts.
Extra bracing like the MORryde X-Factor.

Anything you do to help the ride has to be better on the trailer.
After saying all that I have the Heavy Duty Shackles, Joy Rider Shocks (I think roadmaster is the same thing) and the MORryde SRE4000. I'm very happy with it all and highly recommend it all.
After all this the TrailerSaver air ride hitch is my favorite. It really helps the ride of the truck and trailer.

As for the Roadmaster spring system I just have not seen or heard a lot about it.

Had my comfort rides installed today along with three x-factor supports on the leaf springs. No bucking on the truck now.

I installed it on my 2020 27.5. Haven't towed it anywhere yet, so I can't comment. Mine has the Box tube under the I beam. The box tube is a little narrower than the I beam. I wasn't comfortable with the self tappers. I called roadmaster about it because I read they recommend welding the bracket. The tech I got on the phone said the self tappers are fine and they can't/won't recommend welding. I think the liability of amateur welders attempting it. The install wasn't bad. I recommend a good right angle impact wrench though. I was pretty sore for a few days. I welded their Bracket and added a cross member. My shocks didn't line up with the factory holes in their Brackets. I had to drill holes to get the 30 degrees.

Looks like a good setup. I may do that some time in the future. I pack the bearings myself and my brakes looked very good last time I checked, probably because the diesel exhaust brake an 10 speed trans does most of the work.

I do need to install some new leaf spring rebound clips on the leaf springs.

When I did the Comfort Ride shocks last year I also was concerned about using the self tapping screws on the 2 inch tube. I'm not sure who suggested what I did but it was someone on this forum. The suggestion was to get some 1 1/2 inch wide by 3/8 inch steel stock, cut it into 2 inch pieces, again, if I remember correctly, and tap a screw hole in the center to match the size bolt your want to use. I think I used 3/8 inch grade 8's but not totally sure. I drilled the holes for upper shock brackets slightly larger to give a little play. I then used a fish tape to run a fishing line out the end of the tube, tied the tapped stock pieces to the line and pulled it to the hole, jiggled it in place, cut the fishing line off and attached the bolts. Worked like a charm.

The one difference is I could not find 3/8 stock but did find 1/4 inch. Not quite as good but I think it's better than a self tapper in the thinner tube. I torqued the bolts to the specified torque with no issues. A year later and everything is holding tight.

I just installed mine and took a 400 mile trip on really rough roads. It was a huge improvement.
