roll up or flip bed cover

Does anyone use a bedcover they could recommend? Something I could just roll back or flip back with my fifth wheel hitch in place and keep on the bed rolled back while towing. Thanks in advance.

I got it from Costco back in 2014. I did have to replace a metal piece that broke where the latch hooked in. They sent me a replacement at no cost, BUT only after I told them I purchased from Costco and that I would just return the item if they wouldn't send replacement part for free. I think they initially wanted $35 for the part that broke.

I have a roll up bed liner and really like it. When rolled up, it only takes a few inches of space near the cab. Allowing full access to the bed.

My dad has a hard flip back cover. With his, if there is something in the front, he can flip his front section backwards for access (nice feature). What I do not like about it, If we want to put something large into the bed of his truck, you have to deal with the cover, and that means taking it off. Which he cannot do by himself anymore.

Both seem to cause the same visibility issues when open. From the drive's seat you really cannot look down onto the tailgate. If you have a camera, that should not be much of an issue.

My kid has my truck today, so I cannot look at the brand. It is made by an agriculture company. I put a small tear into it, they sent me a patch kit for free. The Velcro wore out, I was able to order a replacement kit. Very easy to install. I can tell you, my bed is not 100% water tight.

Absolutely. I haven't taken it off since I put it on in 2017. I just fold it back to the last section and it sits just in front of the 5th wheel hitch.

I purchased and installed a tri-fold cover when I got my latest truck. It worked fine but did not clear the hitch travel on my short bed truck. I contacted them and they sent me a roll up cover. After over a year it is holding up well and does not leak, even thru a car wash.

I have the Ford Tri Fold on mine. My hitch sits below the rail so it covers it when not in use. Flips up for travel. Try www.Extang.com maybe.

Work truck not just a TV, 5 1/2ft bed, so roll up is the only way.

My truck was originally setup for a 5th wheel (I bought it used with only 4,600 miles) and it also came with the Trifecta folding cover. I'm guessing they were able to use both at the same time as it's an 8' bed. One of the folding mechanisms had trouble and Trifecta sent me a new for free. No issues other than that. I run it thru Mikes Car wash and no problem with the cover. I only use cover during the winter cuz I prefer the roof rack during warmer months to haul my kayaks when using the Travel Trailer.

I used a tri-fold soft cover for years without issue. However, because the last section is not movable, it was a pain putting things all the way to the front of the bed.

My son bought be a Bakflip MX4 a few years ago and I absolutely love it The last section (against the cab) helps keep things dry while riding in the bed (generator, firewood, etc.)

• Because it's the Bakflip, I can flip that last section up to load the genny, firewood, whatever.
• No issues with pinbox clearance ever (I have an 8 foot box)

If I had a complaint, it would be the weight of the sections. Because it's an 8 foot box, there are 4 sections, so the final flip takes some muscle. I find it easier (and faster) to climb up into the bed to flip the sections.

I had a BakFlip MX4 on my 2500 Silverado. It worked perfectly. Also had one on my 1500 and now I have one on my Gladiator.

Retrax Pro. Best cover I have ever had. You do lose a bit of space in the bed for the canister, but that is the only drawback I have found.

I have had the Peragon and loved it other than it would sweat on the inside at certain times of the year and the inside of the box would be wet from water dripping off of the cover on the inside. I wish they would offer an insulation option, because I think it would help that problem. Also if you didn't open the cover during that time your bed would start to stink from the stagnant water.
