Roof Damage/Fix

This is great big thank you to Dave Underwood and his crew at the Jayco factory.
Back in September we had a big storm come thru which took a bunch of limbs out of one of our maple trees...one of which pierced the roof of our 2014 33.5 RKTS.
After talking to the new service manager where we bought our unit (dealer)I decided to call the factory to see if they did insurance work...this is where I first talked to Dave. I knew the minute I talked to him that this is where our unit was going...back to the factory. First... they have everything there, nothing needs to be ordered, and second...talking to the dealer SM was like.....never mind.

So anyhow...they took exceptional care of our 5er and us both....great people to work with.

If you don't mind the wait for an appointment, it is absolutely the best place to go.

The appointment time could have been shorter but they got us in before the stated appointment.....well worth the wait, they did an amazing job.

The rear two panels had to be replaced and yes ...the whole membrane has to be replaced. We were lucky in that the foil layer wasn't damaged so it was really contained. I knew as soon as I heard that thud what had happened and as soon as the storm rolled thru I was up on the roof with roof tape.

BUY A ROLL OF 6" ROOF TAPE....better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it....Confucius... or someone like that

Yep, I carry a roll of 4'' Eternabond for just such emergencies. This spring, I'm going to use some of it around my roof vents/front cap so no more caulk touch up. Thanks for the info on your trailer and glad it all worked out. Terry
