Roof leak 355MBQS

Noticed something very odd today. It rained today. Not very hard, but still rain. I have wall cabinets on the back wall of my unit. I noticed water dripping from the light switch under the cabinet. When I removed the little corner panel in the cabinet, the wires coming out of the cealing were wet. I immediately went up on the rook to see if I could see a cut or tear in the roofing material, but found nothing. Everything actually looks pretty good on the roof. This leak is right in the corner of the ceiling, or at least that's what I think.

Wgat should I check now? It's got to be something on the roof.

Often the source of the leak is not where you see it inside. I’d look up higher. Maybe a vent fan, the AC or a vent pipe. I’d also check your marker lights. The water can be coming in from the back wall and the water is running along the wiring into the cabinets.

Good luck

Have had to run the AC, but what's this vent pipe you mentioned?

Plumbing vent. Water can get in under the roofing via cracks in the sealant and run downhill towards the back of the trailer. It’s probably not the highest probability that this is the source of your leak, but you never know. It only takes the smallest hole for water to get in and cause a lot of damage.

You say it’s coming in from the corner of the cabinets. I’d also check the screws and sealant along the gutter.

I have the same RV you do and I used to get a puddle on the floor right in front of the couch. The rear ac was mounted wrong, water was leaking under the front edge of the gasket and down though the duct work and ceiling. Basically there is a big square gasket under the AC that is pressure fit to the roof. On mine the AC was too far back and the gasket was twisting/falling into the roof opening. If you take off the shroud there are two screws at the front and two at the rear and you can pick up the AC, the wires are long enough to lay it in its side. Just make sure you put something down so as not to cut the roof. If you have a leak you will see discoloration because the roof looks like new under the gasket.

Roof Leak

You should check the 4 screws that anchor the A/C to ensure that they are snug. If they are loose that can cause a leak. Hopefully your A/C gasket is not pinched. That is the 1st thing I would check. Good luck.
