Route Planning Leaving Yellowstone

Hello all. Planning a trip to Yellowstone and not familiar with the area at all. Heading to Yellowstone from Mount Rushmore is easy, through Billings. But leaving Yellowstone to Rawlins, WY is the issue. RV Trip Wizard has one route saying double back through Bozeman and Billings then come down to Rawlins. Is there a shorter route pulling a 42' fifth wheel heading down through Jackson? Sounds like RV Trip Wizard is doing its' job, lol.

Don't remember the routes, but we left Yellowstone and went South by the Grand Tetons. Not sure if we hit Jackson or went further East, but we had the 42' PINNACLE and it was an enjoyable ride.

When in RAWLINS besure to take the tour of the Old State Prison.

Yea, I think that's the route I'm trying to take. It's 191 out of West Yellowstone, down 26, then 287 to Rawlins. Trying to find out if they can handle the fifth wheel.

100% sure that's the way we went, and as I said we had the 38 FLSA.

EDIT: Just found my GPS routing from the trip in 2015

We came in on 80 to 191 at Rock Springs. Took 191 all the way thru Jackson to Yellowstone. Great road to take. I pull a 321RSTS. It was the trip of a lifetime.

I would consider 191/287 route.

Call Rawlins visitor center, I bet they can give some guidance.

Have you tried google maps and used the satellite images to preview the route.
