rubber roof

Hi this is my first fifth wheel. Just got a new 2011 Jayco Eagle super lite 28.2rls. The rubber roof is loose about an 1-1/2 inch from the outside edge all the way around the roof. Is this normal? Can't wait to use this camper for the first time. Thanks

Our new 2012 29.5 rks is the same way, My dealer said that is normal for exspansion during temp changes. I looked at other new ones and they all have it also. He also mentioned that all around the roof edge there is metal flashing and they do not glue it to it.

Just be glad it doesn't look like mine, Jayco tells me that it is "perfectly acceptable"

Here are a few pix of the edge on the door side and a couple of the many places where there are sharp objects under the rubber poking up and Jayco says they wont do anything about it.

Eek. that doesn't look good to me. But I'm not an expert. I looked at my roof the other day and it looked good.

What caused those dents in the rubber roof?

Wow, hard to think that would be acceptable. Like you I would be most upset. What does your dealer say about it. You won't find any other roofs like that on the dealers lot and to me that would be reason enough to have it fixed. I am really surprised that Jayco won't fix that. At the very least I think the dealer should go to bat for you, or be willing to do the labour.
