Rubber roof trim

I noticed today the aluminum strip along top rear of coach that holds down rubber roof has number of loose screws. As result that aluminum channel had pulled away from rear wall a bit. When I went fo tighten screws, some would not grip that fiberglass skin. I pushed toothpick into screw hole and it went in without hitting anything behind that fiberglass skin. Anyone else have same issue and how did you make repair?

I was thinking that only solution was bigger screw diameter(already #10 screws) or drill out screw hole and use trifold blind rivets to attach. Find it unusual that no roof truss along that top rear edge behind that fiberglass skin.

I just repaired the same problem on ours. Try to put the screw back in at a slight upward angle. They're should be a ceiling rafter they're too bite into. This worked in my situation for a few of the spots along the rear wall. Where it did not work I was able to access that section of the wall thru the ceiling of an endwall cabinet by cutting out a square of ceiling panel and add blocking and then re trimming the cut out I made.
