Curious which 5th Wheel you have and how long are you driving that you are worried about heat?

I did just that. I bought a 50' 30amp RV cord and ran it from the bumper of my 377 under the rig using lots of clamps to under the front bedroom and out of the hitch pin. I had to remove screws that hold up the skin under the bedroom and removed the male end to pull it through and then had to reattach the male end. We use it a lot when traveling to heat up or cool off the unit prior to our arrival at the campground.

We then plug in the RV 50amp cord, put it in a nice bundle and tie it to the ladder and use a reducer to go from the 50 amp to 30 amp.

We keep our Champion generator with remote start in the bed of our truck and after unhitching it is secured and out of the weather.

This is on my to-do list.

On my flatbed pickup I already carry my extra propane tanks all properly secured.

Trailer is gen prepped but not equipped. That means 50 amp cable up to the front bay and a built in transfer switch.

If I use one of those kits to install a 50amp port on the front bay door then I can run a short 50amp cord from the generator (soon to be securely mounted on the flatbed) to that port and have power!

Not so much for power while driving down the road but while grabbing lunch during a stop or for those quick overnight stops in the casino parking lot where you don't even un-hitch.
