Safety Chain

Are any of you more experienced 5ers useing safety chains?my pin box has holes to add and I do use a gooseneck adapter.Dealer didnt provide them and it just goes against my trailer towing habits .A concern or just dont worry about it?

I installed them on mine, it does not hurt to have a backup. I just made mine up so that I could remove them with ease once at the campground.

I thought that the tailgate was supposed to take care off that. Just kidding, I never used one when we had a 5er.

I have seen one fifth wheel equipped with chains in many years of traveling with fifth wheels. I don't use them because they are not commonly used and I see why.
The safety brake should stop the rig if it comes loose and I think it would be a catastrophe if you were lashed to a disconnected fifth wheel by a set of chains at highway speeds.

I have a Blue Ox trailer saver on my set up and I feel it is a safer alternative.
