SaniCon on 2019 jayco pinnacle 32rlts

Winterized the pinnacle today... got to the SaniCon... poured a gallon of antifreeze down toilet...went and opened black valve and turned on SaniCon pump...no pink pumping out...nothing...I read where some pour antifreeze down the sinks then open grey and start pump...and some just pour antifreeze down the hose itself and make it drain back to the pump..am I not pouring enough antifreeze down the toilet?

Donít take this the wrong way cause I have done it, did you open the valve on the sanicon? And open the hose cap so you donít have back pressure.

Yes...opened valve to SaniCon...and had cap off hose waiting to see pink start coming out...am I not pouring enough antifreeze in to get it to pump out?

You know Iím not an expert, cause her in SoCal we donít winterize, but I would hook up my black tank flush hose, pour antifreeze in the toilet. Turn on the sanicon, then turn on the water to the black tank flush, as soon as you see pink out of the hose, turn everything off and I would think your good. Maybe somebody else will chime in, but I would not think you need 100% antifreeze in the system.

You have to first fill up the 3 inch pipe that goes all the way down to the outlet 1 gallon is probably not enough when I winterize mine I’ll probably have to use four or 5 gallons just to make sure..

The manual says to pour it down the toilet into the black tank. Make sure you have the endcap on the waste outlet I wish they had an easier way to do it.

cdjeen, 2017 37MDQS Pinnacle, it takes me 5 1/2 gallons of anti-freeze to winterize properly. Just less than three gallons for all pipes and p-traps and the remainder goes down the toilet to winterize the sani-con. SKIDAWG

Does this make sense. Thinking Iíll winterize my Sanicon and then not use it again till spring. Weíll still camp, but in winter I just like to blow out the lines at the end of a trip. Iím thinking if I just keep the valve closed itíll be isolated. Does that sound correct?

Yes, you are correct. With the valve closed there's no chance of fluids entering the pump.

TxLoser, you are correct if I am understanding what you said. You send the pink stuff down your pipe to the Sani-Con to winterize and then close the valve and never use it again, then yes, you will be fine. SKIDAWG
