Satellite

I'm having problems hooking up my satellite to the wet bay in my 2024 Eagle 29RLC. If I hook up to the spot marked satellite I get nothing. If I run the cable from the satellite directly to the back of the TV it works great. Id prefer not to have to run the cable through the window into the trailer for obvious reasons. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the forum from North Texas!

We had a similar problem in our Pinnacle. Remove the access panel in the basement and check the connections at the back of the wet bay panel. They might have connected them wrong at the factory. Use a coupler and connect your satellite cable to each cable one by one and see if the TV gets signal that way.

After messing around with ours for the first time for over two hours, found out Dish had to be connected to AUX instead of SAT.

I have used one of these to help sort out the different cables and whether something was connected or not.
Coaxial Pocket Toner Pocket Continuity Tester

If you contact Jayco they likely have a schematic of the coax layout and may also have instructions on set up for DISH and other Sat systems. They did for the Greyhawk.

And if a run goes through a splitter you will probably get tone at two different locations and that won't help.

Why would that not help? At least you would know the locations that have continuity.

I guess it will tell you that you cannot use that line for DISH etc. You need a "home run" for Sat or DISH. Splitters cause voltage drop and the drop is too low for the receiver to power the dish.

Save yourself some headaches and see if Jayco can furnish you with a schematic. They emailed me with the entire coax wiring system and two schematics showing how to rewire for DISH/Directv.

This won't help you but an example of what they sent and what needed to be done on the Grayhawk.
