Satellite Question

I am thinking of adding a Dish satellite to our 2018 Jayco HT 30.5 MBOK. The DISH bundle that was recommended by DISH is the Dish Tailgater Pro Premium 2 Receiver Antenna Bundle. I would like to replace my roof antenna with the Dish satellite as they have an "Over the Air Turner" that can be put on the satellite to receive those channels. My two questions are:

1. Can I use the coax going to roof antenna for the satellite connection?

2. Can anyone else share their experience in adding satellite to their Jayco fifth wheel?

Thanks!

I just added one, same set up. I have not permanently mounted it on the roof yet. Depending on my camp location, sometimes I place it in the front, sometimes in the back and even on the ground. If you go where there are trees, you need to be flexible to get the satellites. I currently just run my cable off the side into my outside control center, water hooks up etc.

Thanks and good to hear it working well for you. I am putting the Quick Release Roof Mount kit on the roof so I can take the satellite off and place on a tripod if under trees, etc.

Happy Camping!

I didn't get that fancy. We purchased a Winegard Pathway X2 portable. This way I can pretty much place it anywhere with a clear view of the southern sky. Sometimes with the trees in the way you cannot get reception with a roof mount.

Thanks! Do you do anything particular to deter theft? I'm not familiar with what might be available to use for security.

I have the Dish Wally and a Winegard Pathway X2. It has worked pretty well. The good thing about the Pathway is it's ability to get the eastern and western arc of satellite's. It gives you more options.

Totally agree, I really like our Winegard Pathway X2. Just have one receiver hooked up to the main TV. Haven't hooked up the one in the bedroom yet. Bought a modulator for the basement TV...........don't know how to hook that one yet!
