School me on shower faucets

Tank hot water heater.

On every other faucet in the coach, mixing of hot and cold is not a problem

On the shower faucet, single level design, fractions of a mm are required to adjust the temp, or you go from full hot to full cold.

I've seen mentions of people swapping to two knob designs for the tankless heaters, but not sure that is required for a tank heater.

Is there a mix adjustment on the back of the handle assembly or something?

Not sure about the tank vs tankless water heater. But I can say I have swapped to two handle faucet in the shower and I still have some issues with hot/cold mixture. Matter of fact if I change the shower head from a normal stream to say the massage setting, I loose hot eater also. I want to switch back to the single handle option but I do not know who makes the faucet that came in my 377 to start as the dealer replaced mine with the double handle.

I bought a thermostatic shower valve to install in mine this season. You set the temp you want and it automatically maintains the temp. Will be interesting installing it. It's a Euro faucet. So the connections aren't 4".

I plant to do something similar to what this guy did. Except I bought a higher end faucet. I'm hoping the faucet covers will cover up the 4" holes. But I may have to use a panel (cutting board) like he did.

Our single handle was the same way... micro adjustments needed to get the temp right. I just switched to a dual handle faucet last week. I picked it up on Amazon for like $20. Best thing I could have done! Worked perfect on our trip this past weekend.

Awesome. How easy was the swap? Is the hardware on the single lever design hidden behind the hot-cold label cap?

I was a crew chief on the VC-25s for 14 years. If I do happen to fly somewhere... It's always a Boeing, or I'm not going!!

Very easy to swap out. There is a panel in the storage cabinet between two of the shelves. Should be 4 screws, mine had 3 screws - one of which was not holding anything.
Typical faucet swap - I did have to adjust the handle knobs on the new one by a half turn because I kept the outlet on the bottom. Also had to swap the hot and cold lines on the back. Hot is always on the left but the single faucet had the hot on the right - as you look at it from in the shower.
Remember, only hand tight on the water connections - no tools needed for this at all. Okay... maybe a screwdriver to remove the panel.

Indeed, that was me! Hope you don't have too long of a wait. I know you'll enjoy the new one!

Lowmiler, if you want to swap out the faucet's, that is your call however; there really is no need for it. All faucets are made with an antic scalding device built in. It is simple to adjust. You can YouTube a video and watch it and you should be good to go. SKIDAWG

Hey SmokinJoe747, just catching up on reading the Jayco forums and saw your service on VC25. We provide support for VC25. Its a beautiful plane. Been dong this for the past 7 years.
And your right I switched out my bath faucet I bought from Amazon and it did make a world of difference. I had to buy a crimp tool from Lowes to attach a regular house cut-off faucet and used stainless hook up hoses for the supply lines, looks great and is very reliable. Glad your aboard.

That's an Oxygenics shower head, but I'm referring to the mixing valve at the faucet.

The Oxygenics is great for making the water feel like it is at higher pressure, but I don't think it does anything to improve the balance of hot and cold water (at least it didn't on my last rig).

We have a 2018 315RLTS with the same micrometer adjustment. Jayco said that's the way they all come, so live with it. OK. Anybody know how to access ther faucet so we can change out the faucet ourselves?

Thanks.

If you want to replace the faucet make sure the new on will fit in the wall. It’s real shallow, 1.5” I believe. Any residential faucet requires a 3.5” thick wall

I changed mine out before the last trip. It was easy because it's mounted on a corner and there was a nice access panel in a kitchen cabinet.

I ordered it on Amazon. It had to have the water outlet pointing down.

We went to visit our fiver, yesterday to get some stuff out of it. While there we looked into the cabinet behind where the shower faucet lives and found between the shelves an access panel held in by two screws. So we will be able to replace the faucet. Again, thanks to all with their suggestions and we have the two handle faucet added too our Amazon cart.
