Hoping there was a fix without replacing rails. Our slide works fine after the motors get together. Just have to help it after one of the motors stops usually a few inches either going in in out.

That sounds like stall force adjustment. Have u tried that? The side rails should have nothing to do with one side stopping in our out.

Ours got to the point that it would go a few inches on one side or the other would jam. We had one side fixed by a mobile mechanic last year. The exterior mounting screws were broken, letting the entire frame twist. Then it started doing it again. Oiled everything and the seals are not jamming.

Here's where you should look carefully- On the outside frame, there are 12 screws. This week I checked ours and 10 of them were broken off. The heads were still there, but only held in by the sticky foam adhesive.

I drilled small holes 1 inch from each broken screw, then used #14 self tapping screws to reattach frame. What you see in this photo is prepping to paint over the repair.

It worked!!!!! Just reattaching the frame did it. I tested it about 30 times- no jams.Click image for larger version

It's a Schwintek, right? If so, you definitely have 2 motors. One on each side at the top, viewable from the inside of the coach, slide in, when you pull back the seal.

Why r u showing the bottom of ur slide? In that pic u show the floor bottom and folding bracket that feeds all the wiring and propane into the kitchen slide. The outside front and back of ur slide each have two tracks one up high on on bottom. That is a schwintec.

When u close ur slide how much bending does the inside slide trim do. It sure seems weird breaking off the screws. Almost seems like way to much stall force happening.

The trim does flex, then relaxes a little when the motors are done. At least it's equal now (before, there was always one side lagging that had to catch up at the end when holding the retract switch). And the flex doesn't seem to be excessive, just enough to compress the seals.

One issue remains- the entire slide lurches as it goes in and out. I shakes the entire trailer. I'm convinced that this is due to the rollers on the bottom digging into the soft wood. I haven't decided whether I want add additional rollers, or install steel plates over the 5 existing rollers.

Factory service center installed Teflon pads on mine. Several rollers were digging into floor bottom.
How could u add more rollers without removing the entire slide?

With these- screwed in from the side. Pricey, and haven't measured to see if existing rollers are exactly 1 1/16 high.

Yes its schwintek, so the bracket in the picture folds in but there is an access to underbelly right behind it, when I opened it up there is a motor in there that works that slide bracket.
So is there that motor at the bottom and 2 more at the top either side like you say there is?

U sure, that access on mine operates a single motor for the living room slide. Living room has a thru frame slide with two track bars under slide.

I would call Lippert and see what they say since it is there part. I would like to add two more of those. But would have to add two more Teflon pads also.

I'd bet a dollar those screws were over torqued at the factory. One of my slide awnings had a few screw heads pop off since I took delivery. No adhesive there to hold the heads on.

Probably right, over torqued, and too small for the job.

My slides are out in my shop now, I'll check the screws and rails when we get home. Really don't think anything is twisted or broken. It's like the motor on one side stops around 6 inches in or out, doesn't change. Once you push the side that is behind it takes off and doesn't stop again until either all the way extended or retracted. I don't see any issues with the interior trim moving or bending at all

Has anyone installed steel or aluminum plates over your schwnitek rollers? I'm starting to look into it. One You-tuber used 1/8" steel (approx. 11 Gauge)
It seems that 1/8 aluminum would work too- thick enough so it wouldn't dent from the weight.

Anything would be smarter than small diameter rollers under OSB. What were they thinking?

So- has anyone done it? How much did the materials cost? I have 5 rollers, and the sheets would need to be about 7" X 26"

Mine has thick Teflon pads under each roller. Installed at factory service center. I would call them since I know they have them. I have seen numerous class C with the three tracks and all have had Teflon pads on floor bottom. Non were Jayco brand.
