Schwintek verticle bar replacement?

A heater alongside our rear sofa slid out and got jammed between the kitchen slide and wall when opening it. I didn't see it because of our island in the way.

I had a repair guy come out and survey why I couldn't time it properly and the motors were making at ratcheting sound at times when retracting it. He saw the verticle frame bar on one side is slightly bent causing the motor(s) to be misaligned. I told him go ahead and order it and let me know when I can schedule to have them repair it.

Well, that was over 6 weeks ago and they say it hasn't come in yet. I ran the part number on the net and found I can have one here in less than a week from several ebay sellers. So, I am thinking of ordering it and doing it myself. This thing isn't cheap at $1300-$1500 for a stamped steel bar and some brackets.

Anyway, if anyone has done one of these, please let me know of any stumbling blocks I might encounter and if it is a one person job. Thanks in advance.

Are you talking about the column attached to the wall of the rig that hold the motor and gears?

There's a you tube video showing what you need to do.

Thanks Grumpy, that helped a LOT. I didn't realize it would come as an assembly. Looks like the biggest problem will be getting a jack that goes that high and another wiring harness to use as a jumper.

Most people don't realize it is a complete assembly. Get a 4x4 standing up to put on the jack.

Looks to be easier than I anticipated too. The RV guy wanted to charge up to 8 hours to replace it so I assumed it was a real bear.

I will be calling them tomorrow and tell them to cancel the order that is taking forever and will just do it myself. One ebay seller says they have over 10 in stock.
